Edwards Is Dropping Out

January 30, 2008

The ex-Senator from South Carolina who had hoped the state would revive his election is believed to be dropping out today.  The man, who after quite a few losses in the previous states, believes that his underdog state and his chances for success are, unfortunately, not possible.  Little is known as to the real circumstances about Edwards’ dropping out of the race; however, he will give a speech today at 1PM EST in New Orleans which will go into detail on his reasoning for dropping out.  The speech was intended to be a talk on poverty, a very touchy subject to those in the city, but it will now be his “I am dropping out” speech.

Although he has not officially dropped out, him doing this brings a question to this blogger: who will he endorse?  Will John Edwards endorse anyone now that he is dropping out.  Last night, it was stated that there were rumors Giuliani would endorse John McCain after McCain won in Florida.  Will John Edwards endorse anyone else?  It has become obvious that the two who are going to be battling it out this coming Tuesday and into the future primaries are Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  But, will Edwards endorse one of them or either of them?  There is speculation and I have my own opinion of it.

John Edwards will endorse the candidate he feels is most likely to win the nomination.  Why?  It will give him a one up in becoming the Vice President for that candidate if he/she wins the nomination.  Edwards wants to get into the White House one way or another and if he can become Vice President, that’s still a very great position.  But, what about Obama and Clinton?  It was reported earlier in the month that both had intended on trying to steal Edwards’ voters, but now that he is out, what can they do to get their votes?  With Edwards out, there are only two.  Are there any beliefs on who will win?
